Potentiality of Formulated Bioagents from Lab to Field: A Sustainable Alternative for Minimizing the Use of Chemical Fungicide in Controlling Potato Late Blight

Late blight of potato caused by an oomycete, Phytophthora infestans (Mont.) De Bary limits the production worldwide. management has been based on chemical fungicide application, and repeated use these fungicides introduces new more aggressive genotypes, which can rapidly overcome host resistance. Therefore, innovative effective control measures are needed if is to be reduced or eliminated. Some potential formulated bacterial bioagents viz. Pseudomonas putida (BDISO64RanP) Bacillus subtilis (BDISO36ThaR), fungal Trichoderma paraviridicens (BDISOF67R) T. erinaceum (BDISOF91R), were evaluated for their performance in controlling late under growth chamber field conditions. Both artificial inoculation experiments revealed that eight sprays (P. B. subtilis) (T. erinaceum) found most at reducing severity 99% up until 60 days after planting (DAP), whereas partially 70 DAP, 46 60% 58 conditions, respectively.
